Gaia River Lodge
Located in the scenic Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve, Gaïa Riverlodge (formerly Five Sisters Lodge) has long been one of Belize’s most celebrated ecotourist destinations. Inspired by the property’s natural beauty, the resort overlooks spectacular waterfalls located right on the grounds of the lodge. The sparkling clear water of the nearby river, the shimmering spray of the falls and the contrasting green of the forest are accentuated by the lodge’s beautiful landscaping, which showcases a wide array of indigenous bushes and trees, flowers and orchids.
Gaïa Riverlodge ensures easy access to gorgeous waterfalls either by simply walking down the stairs or by means of Belize’s only hydro-powered rain forest tram. Once you arrive at the freshwater pools, the fun begins! You can swim in the clear waters of the river that’s just a stone’s throw away from your cabana, or relax in the sun on our tiny river-island retreat.
Perhaps best of all, the lodge’s central location makes touring Belize easy. Many of Belize’s most sought-after attractions, such as the country’s Mayan ruins, are just a day trip away. Plus, the area offers a tantalizing array of activities, from zip-lining and cave exploration, to horseback riding on wilderness trails and boating along a local river.
Perched atop the edge of a valley overlooking the Five Sisters waterfalls, Gaïa Riverlodge offers a choice of 16 beautifully appointed private cabanas ranging in size and location. With design features that include Belizean hardwoods, traditional bay leaf thatched roofs and richly varnished mahogany interiors, each cabana is fully screened for comfort, and features panoramic windows or a private veranda with hammock, ceiling fans, a bathroom decorated with hand-painted Mexican tiles, beds with pillow top mattresses for a great night’s sleep, and Matouk and Frette linens.

A charming and romantic getaway for adventurous couples, honeymooners or anyone seeking a quiet retreat, the Riverside Villa is located in a serene, very secluded setting on the banks of Privassion Creek, away from the main lodge. It has one bedroom with a queen bed, and a full bath with a beautifully tiled bathtub. The villa also features hardwood furnishings, its own private kitchen and living room, as well as several screened porches with hammocks and chairs offering a beautiful view of both the jungle and, of course, the river.
