Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge
Location: Caribbean Zone
Stretching down the Caribbean coast south of Puerto Viejo to the border with Panama, this loosely managed refuge contains coral reefs, palm-lined beaches, patches of rain forest and a small mangrove swamp. This refuge surrounds the villages of Manzanillo and Gandoca. The best way to explore the refuge is by following the trail along the coastline that heads south out of Manzanillo.
